Do not use your phone in a dangerous position. For a crash, injury, or fire, contact police (110) or ambulance/fire (119) as appropriate. On an expressway, move to a safe refuge away from the vehicle and request help.
Describe the situation from a safe place
Note your location, vehicle, and what happens when you try to start. Do not assume the cause or keep forcing repeated attempts.
Check your insurer or existing assistance provider
Your insurance may include roadside assistance. Check with the insurer or agent before hiring a provider found through a search ad.
Confirm the total and terms before authorizing
Ask about call-out, time-of-day, labor, towing distance, and cancellation charges as well as the basic fee. Keep the authorization and itemized bill.
